The lineage of House Baratheon can be traced back to Steffon Baratheon, a high-born Lord of the North. Steffon was known to be a calm but also a serious man, not one to smile on celebrations and not one to weep on gravestones either. He first met Arwyn Wolfstone when the soon to be King in the North defeated and erased the Monsters of the Seas from existence. Steffon could never have been more thankful for Arwyn's help. In return, Steffon pledged his loyalty to Arwyn and later to House Wolfstone of the North, vowing to serve and protect the members of House Wolfstone.
Lord Steffon Baratheon was married to Sarella Monterys and had three sons and two daughters. He passed down his light complexion and dark hair and bright blue eyes to his children.
House Baratheon was also one of the bannermen that supported Arwyn Wolfstone in the march to the South to engage in the War of the Pillar Fathers. Lord Steffon Baratheon commanded his men in battle and was alive to see Arwyn perish, which he took deeply and mourned such a loss.
