The lineage of House Greyjoy can be traced back to Asha Greyjoy, a warrior who stood beside Arwyn Wolfstone and fought the Monsters of the Seas. She was known as one of the few women who was only attracted to the same sex. It was even said that Asha tried to seduce Eira Bloodfyre, but failed when Erys stood clear and warned her to stay away from his sister.
House Greyjoy was appointed nobility after Arwyn's allegiance to the North, Asha was then appointed Master of Ships for House Wolfstone and became a formidable force of the seas. Asha commanded thousands of war ships in her time and made sure that no monster ever resurfaced the seas of the North. She was also known for her skill in combat and was often underestimated by her opponents for the fact that she's a woman, but Asha soon proved them wrong when she either took their heads or cut off their genitals to feed to the creatures of the seas.
It was rumoured that Asha sought out the help of a dark Fae to allow her to be able to conceive a child without having to sleep with a man. It was, later proven when Asha returned to Pyke one day with a babe in her arms and proclaimed the babe as her son.
