The lineage of House Starlight can be traced back to Gerold Starlight, an official Lord Commander of the Queensguard of House Ethoria. Gerold is known to be fluent in Raemttesh and has a deep accented Gaecean tone as well as attaining conversational level with the Common Tongue. He is noted to have a dark umber complexion and light brown eyes. Gerold is said to have been more than seven feet tall, towering amongst many men, and many women desired him for his talent in sword fighting and his good looks.
However, when Serafina was born and came of age, Gerold only had eyes for her and her only. She was the star the lit up his night, the very woman songs and poems described knights to vie in death in order to win over her heart. And this was the greatest and utmost betrayal he could ever do. He fell in love with the wrong woman. As Lord Commander of the Queensguard for Erin and Rheyna, he was supposed to show undying loyalty to his Queens, but instead, he took off with House Duncan and Serafina Girelon to the East in order to build her seat of power.
Gerold was considered a traitor by House Ethoria, but to him, he did all of it out of love and adoration to Serafina. Gerold never forced himself or pressed the woman of his dreams to accept his advances, but when Lanier Leonhart took Serafina as wife, this broke Gerold's heart.
After the marriage, it took him three years until he found another woman he could marry and have children with. Gerold met Ynna Whittle, a low-born daughter of a sellsword, but he loved her nonetheless, just not in the same way he loved Serafina. Gerold and Ynna had two children together, a boy and a girl before Gerold was killed by Erin and hung for treason.
